　　good evening, ladies and gentlemen

　　it’s so great an honor for me to meet you here at your grand openingceremony. this is our first official meeting, so please allow me to representall senior students of foreign language department to give you our biggestwelcome and sincerest congratulations.

　　it’s the fourth year for me in binzhou university ,but i still remember theoccasions when i first got here. i understand your reluctance to leave your dearfamily, your curiosity about how life will be in next few years and yourambition to improve yourselves. of course, you’ve also been undertaking hugepressures from your parents’ high expectations. but as time passing by, you willbe gradually attracted by the exciting and meaningful life here. you’re gonnaexperience more freedom, more interesting classes, a large number of clubs andespecially, more responsibility for yourself, because from this day on, you willbe the only master of your own.

　　first of all, being responsible for yourself needs your full dedication tostudy. college students as we are, study still remains as our primary task.every good habit developed in your high school is worthy to be insisted on, likegetting up early for reading, listening carefully to teachers in classes andreviewing lessons for refreshing your memory. besides, here in the college, youare provided with the access to rich resources of books in the library,electronic documentations and lectures by experts. anything you want is therefor you, and what you need to do is just sparing time to get there and checkout. i assure you that every time

　　you read in the library, every different surprise is to be discovered.

　　second, being responsible for yourself needs your openness to surroundingcommunities and involvement in them, which means you should be positive to facechallenges. there must be something in your character that you want to changeand sort of abilities that you want to improve. then do something to change it.by joining a students’ organization, you can perform your talents and makefriends; by taking part in a contest, you can enjoy both tensions of fiercecompetitiveness and pleasures of success. all of these experiences will begreatly beneficial for your future career.

　　third, being responsible for yourself needs your strong control over yourminds. facing with the complex world and colorful college life, it’s a necessityfor us to always keep clear about what we want and what is right, to overcomeour laziness and timidity, and to resist all temptations which may completelydestroy us.

　　ladies and gentlemen, three years can win a battle, four years can producean olympic champion. what about your college years? to live it peacefully ormake it unforgettable? to be a loser or fight as a warrior?

　　ladies and gentlemen, every opportunity is earned by no one but yourself.so just go for your dreams and build your future! thank you very much!

　　Teachers, students!

　　The spring breeze, Spring is in the air., a new semester began. Here, firstof all, on behalf of all the teachers of the school, I would like to express myheartfelt wishes to all the students in the school. I wish you all good healthand academic progress in the coming year!

　　Looking back on the past, we are excited, proud and memorable.

　　I would like to make the following four requirements, which are summed upin four sentences:

　　The first sentence is, "everything starts from scratch.".

　　Whether you are good or bad in the past, what we care most about is whatyou are doing now. Can you seize every day?. A philosopher said, the pastbelongs to others, the future belongs to you, your past glory or fail, hasbecome yesterday, for you should be only the lesson and experience; the newsemester has started, you need to do is to give the teachers and students leavea good first impression. Although the first impression does not represent all ofone person, it is a welcome step to do so. Our classmates should also dare tobid farewell to the past shortcomings, bid farewell to their shortcomings,continue to challenge themselves, perfect themselves, and reshape a newself.

　　The second sentence is that adults can become useful.

　　As the saying goes, "first adult, later talent.". In a competitive modernsociety, only a little achievement, a little talent is not enough, only with agood moral character, noble sentiments, can have a bright future. Therefore, weshould take the "code for primary school students" and "daily behavior norms forprimary school students" as our code of conduct, and we must always be strictwith ourselves. Self respect, self care, attention to instrumentation, harmonyand refinement. Sincere and friendly, courteous to others. Industrious andfrugal, filial piety to parents. Students, as long as you continue to selfregulate their own anatomy, Yanyilvji, various aspects of behavior, we can getthe gratifying progress in the new year.

　　The third sentence is hard work and smart.

　　In learning, we advocate two words, real and skillful. That is to get downto learn, solidly practice, grasp the basic knowledge. Start with each subject,every little exercise, think independently, ask questions, ask more questions,and get to know them. The trick is to learn skillfully. This is notopportunistic, but must master the method, in order to obtain the best studybenefit. Each discipline has its own characteristics, and everyone hasinpidual differences. We should find a suitable method of learning under theguidance of the teacher.

　　The fourth sentence is, love spell will win.

　　The classmates, plum flower, the flower of success is watered by sweat. Wedo not advocate it, but whenever we need hard conscious spirit, indomitablecourage that need,Students! You are the future of the motherland, the hope of the nation,"you are the sun at eight or nine in the morning," today, you are proud of theschool, the future school will be proud of you, a good beginning is half ofsuccess, let us start from now on, with confidence, to achieve the ideal ofunity thank you!
